A Fresh Start

I’ve barely touched my blog in nearly a year. Oddly, I’ve been getting the urge to write a lot more frequently but I keep repressing it. I just didn’t know if I wanted to publish it. The other day, though, I just decided screw it. Who cares about who reads it? Who cares what people think? If it brings me joy then I’m going to do it. So I decided the blog needed a fresh start.

It has a new look and over the coming weeks, I will be posting different kinds of content. I have the opportunity to travel for work so I’m going to post more about my travels, how I pack for work travel, how I (try) to stick to a routine while traveling.

I am also going to try to post weekly round ups of what I eat and what I wear. These two are for accountability. I need accountability so that I actually get ready, continue eating food that I cook, and keep a clean house so that I can take pictures.

One of the goals I had for this year was to live as aesthetic a life as possible. There was a time in my life where I would have rolled my eyes at such a goal. However, the more I try to embrace it the more realistic and helpful the goal has been. What it truly has meant is to live a life that I’m proud of, that I want to share with others and represents the life I want to look back on when I’m old.

Sometimes it means using a cute cup or mug or indulging in beauty related self-care, but it also means going to pilates regularly, journaling, and reading as often as possible. It means taking walks when the weather is nice and cuddling with my dog every chance I get. Sometimes, it means embracing the stress of traveling for work by trying to maintain routines that support me. It means going to the doctor regularly and tackling medical diagnoses head on–be they sleep apnea or ADHD.

I have tried to write over the past few years but none of the posts were ever finalized and posted. My goal is to get those live over the next couple of months, while also creating new content that shows the highlights (and some vulnerability) from my life. Ultimately, I’m trying to create a space on the internet for people like me. People who love to read, travel, cook and live a habit and routine driven life.

It may already be mid-February but this year is a fresh start. I’m so happy that my blog is going to reflect that and that I am embracing a new year.
