Happy Galentine’s Day, everyone! Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Leslie Knope declared February 13 “Galentine’s Day.” It is a day of ladies celebrating ladies. There are a lot of amazing women in my life. I rely on them when times are hard and I celebrate with them through our achievements. In honor of Galentine’s day, I decided to write a letter to all the women in my life who mean oh so very much to me.
Dear Ladies,
Thank you. Each and every one of you
As we grow older, our friendships change. I rely so heavily on each of you to keep me sane. I complain, vent, and plan with you. We have seen and experienced some things that as a child I could have nver imagined. I’ve stood by your side as you married the person you loved, I’ve held your children, and you’ve cheered me on through so many years of school and tests. We have fought and we have disagreed, we have celebrated and we have commiserated, but every hard time and every struggle has only strengthened our bonds.
Because you have given me so much, I have a few promises for you. I vow to build you up and never tear you down. I will not judge you for your decisions. Each of us has our own path, and no person can judge another’s. I swear to celebrate your triumphs because your wins do not equal my losses. I will make you laugh when you feel low and give you a hug when you feel you can take no more. I’ll stand by your side through the good and the bad, because we make each other stronger.
Love, Casandra
