It’s that time of the month, I’m sharing my March TBR pile. This month I’m focusing on finishing a series I love, starting another series, continuing a third, and reading some standalone. I changed things up a bit. I’m reading sci-fi, poetry, a historical thriller, a twist on a classic and (predictably) some high fantasy. So without further ado, here they are.
The Books
Stalking Jack the Ripper: I began Stalking Jack the Ripper toward the end of February. I finished it the other night and can’t wait to grab the follow up. It is a bit of an historical crime drama. The book centers on Audrey Rose, a young lady who is defying her family and pursuing an education with her Uncle in pathology in Victorian London. Then Jack the Ripper begins murdering woman in Whitechapel and Audrey gets caught up in trying to find the killer. The series looks like it will continue to follow Audrey while she hunts other historical killers.
Gemina: I cannot wait to dig into Gemina. This is the second book in the Illuminae Files series and the epic conclusion is coming out soon. From my understanding this book will focus on the Heimdall station, which is where the Hypatia is headed after the end of Illuminae. I’m excited to see what is next. I’m also interested to see if the novelty of the writing style will have worn off or if it will drag me in like the first book.
Your Soul is a River: I finally got my hands on this beauty and plan on spending a cozy afternoon curled up in my little reading chair exploring Nikita Gill’s beautifully moving prose. I could not believe that I found this thing when I was perusing a bookstore in Asheville.
The Case for Jamie: The epic conclusion to the Charlotte Holmes series is something I have been waiting months and months for. I cannot wait to see what happens to Charlotte and Jamie following the tragic events of The Last of August. I think for once it will not be hard for me to begin the final book in a series.
Rebel of the Sands Series: I read Rebel of the Sands years ago when it first came out. I quite enjoyed the first book, but I just never got around to picking up the second in the series. Now that it is complete, I want to dedicate a little time to a series involving natural magic and a high fantasy setting. I plan to re-read Rebel of the Sands because it has been two years. Then I will move onto the others. I probably won’t finish the series this month. So it is a bit of a March/April TBR.
As always, I will publish reviews and link to those when they’re live. I swear, I’m trying to get better at posting with more frequency. I have scheduled time into my weekends to sit down and flush out a few posts for the week ahead.
