My April TBR

My April to be read pile is pretty big, but I am halfway through a couple of these books so I think I may be able to manage it. If you have any other recommendations leave them in the comments, I am always looking for new books!

Thief of Lies by Brenda Drake
I started Thief of Lies back in February. It is good, but it is one of those books I find easy to set aside for other books. I think I actually may be done with it by the time I post this blog because it has really picked up these past few days. It’s about warriors who travel between their sanctuaries within our world to the world as we know it through libraries. The main character, Gia, has no idea that she should be one of these warriors, or Sentinels, as they are called in the book until she accidentally opens a portal.

The Animal Under the Fur by E.J. Mellow
I cannot wait to start this book. It has been all over bookstagram recently and just came out last week. Assassins, romance, banter how could I not immediately invest?!

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
I think I over anticipated this book. Don’t get me wrong, it is totally living up to the anticipation, but I almost don’t want to read it because I don’t want the book to end! Lila Bard is such an amazing, strong heroine. Kell is just such a perfect, but imperfect hero. I don’t let myself read more than one part a night. I think that will have to just let myself devour it soon, though, because potential spoilers are everywhere and I cannot avoid them much longer.

Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
Norse mythology with a Neil Gaiman twist? Sign. Me. Up. I literally know nothing else about this book, but I’m obsessed with Gaiman so I imagine I will love it.

American Gods by Neil Gaiman
As stated above, I love Neil Gaiman. American Gods the TV show is premiering at the end of April, as such, I have got to get this gem finished before it starts.

The Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen
This book definitely suffered from my over anticipation. I haven’t even read one page because I am terrified that I built it up too much in my head. But that stops this month. I have got to read it because I just spend my days wondering what happens. I have to know what happens to the Tearling people and who the heck The Fetch is.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
I started this book last year, but I set it aside for one reason. I knew if I finished it I would go insane waiting for A Court of Wings and Ruin, inevitably doing what I did with the Tearling and Shades of Magic series and over anticipate. So now that Wings and Ruin comes out at the beginning of May I am going to get myself back in the Feyre mindset and invest some serious time in this series.
